The service was good. The food was just okay, somewhere between a 2.5 and 3. There was an overpowering flavor that drowned out the flavors of the rest of the meals, excess cumin maybe? My palette was shot after just a couple of bites.

The beef chimichanga was passable, but the meat was tasteless with no Mexican flavoring at all. My wife's shredded beef tacos contained the same pot roast like meat that had no taco seasoning in it, and the tortillas were wet, and fell apart when she tried to pick them up. Even though we got a good recommendation from friends who eat breakfast there, we did notice that the other family in the place were eating hamburgers and fries? Don't think we'll be rushing back for Mexican food there anytime soon.

In general I've had good experience with Pepe's but this last visit left me in shock. My wife ordered fajitas (small) and only got 2 tortillas. To me, that's not a huge deal as literally every other mexican restaurant I've ate at will give you more tortillas (free of charge) - what got me was the waitress set our ticket on the table right after dropping off the food. When I asked if she could get a few more tortillas as 2 clearly wasn't enough, she brought us 2 more and picked up our ticket and charged us an additional $2 for (2) small tortillas. I'm generally not petty, but that's insane to me and on top of that, charging $3.25 for a soda is nonsense.

Very expensive $40 + tip for 2 meals $13 for 4 sodas. Food was not that great. Sticker shock for sure. Very very unimpressed

Today was a long awaited Sister Day. We started at Heart Mountain Interpretive center and then meandered around the grounds where, still standing, were barracks and the hospital. 2 hours later, we were hot, thirsty and hungry. So off we went to Pepe' s to have a go at their Mexican food. Sis ordered the Smothered Beef Burrito with rice and beans. I decided on the Al Pastor Chicken Taco with rice and beans. The food was tasty, the burrito gigantic, the hard shelled taco filled to overflowing and, with the addition of the sides, yes... We both took boxes home to be enjoyed later. Staff was friendly, and the only downside, was the small space, filled with small tables, and very little in the way of ambiance. It sort of reminded me of my old school lunchroom. Still... The food is well worth a trip!!

Good food! Sometimes it takes a while to get it due to it seems like they only ever have one server on which is weird but other wise it's good food!

It was really good, had the lunch special smothered burrito. Beware tho it is an American portion, had to take 3/4 of it home. My hubby ate all of his tho, but was hurting afterwards. I just wish the rice and beans had some flavor to them, just add salt I guess. That is typical for Mexican restaurants in the US tho. Service was great too.

Pepe's has a great menu particularly for breakfast. Their pork chili makes anything better and the cooks and wait staff make everyone feel at home. Love the place!!

Excellent food and service. We had breakfast and the servings were enormous! All made from scratch. Would definitely recommend!

The best authentic Mexican Food around. A clean comfortable place to dine alone or take the family. A very inclusive menu with affordable prices. I eat there frequently, the service and drink selection is great.
